Deuba denies hand in controversial IGP appointment
KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba said he was not included in the administration's choice to name DIG Jaya Bahadur Chand as the Inspector General of Nepal Police.
After media announced that he heaped undue weight on the legislature to pick Chand as the Chief of Nepal Police while the Prime Minister and the Minister for Home Affairs were for another applicant in view of the position, Deuba issued a press proclamation by means of his own secretary Keshav Raj Joshi this evening and denied the charge.
